>> Click here for download english versionIl progetto “My mask”, a cura di Mauro Cossu e Francesca Conchieri, con i contributi critici di Francesca Baboni e Stefano Taddei, riguarda un'esposizione di mascherine d'autore realizzate da un gruppo di artisti su invito, con l'unico vincolo che fossero predisposte per essere indossate.
"La maschera è stata per molto tempo soltanto un modello utile a camuffarci in alcune occasioni.
In realtà la società contemporanea non ci permette piu' di essere noi stessi.
Mascherarsi è diventato una sorta di dovere sociale. I generi oramai hanno codici visivi e comportamentali a cui attenersi, pena l'esilio dalla collettività o da qualsiasi sussidio economico.
La recente pandemia ha dato al concetto di maschera una sorta di igienica demarcazione. Quando si parla di salute ogni beltà viene certamente messa all'angolo, sebbene sia in realtà un proliferare di ulteriori nascondimenti. In questo margine di visuale si situa questo innovativo progetto, che propone di mascherare in modo artisticamente peculiare questo anonimato sociale. Non si confronta con il salutare ma con il post-industriale, proponendo una creatività che possa rivestirlo di significati assolutamente inediti."
Francesca Baboni, Stefano Taddei/ The project “My mask” curated by Mauro Cossu and Francesca Conchieri, with the critical contributions by Francesca Baboni and Stefano Taddei, is a masks exhibition created by a group of artists, invited with a single constraint: its must be wearable.
"The mask was for a long time an object we used to disguise ourselves on certain occasions.
In reality, contemporary society no longer allows us to be ourselves.
Masquerade has become a sort of social duty. The genders now have visual and behavioral codes to follow, on pain of exile from the community or from any means of economic sustenance.
The recent pandemic has given the concept of the mask a sort of hygenic demarcation. When it comes to health, beauty has no role anymore; there is actually a proliferation of further hiding.
This innovative project reflects this view, which proposes to mask this social anonymity in a uniquely artistic way. It is not concerned with health but with the post-industrial, proposing a creative approach that can bring to it completely new meanings."

/ "Die Maske war lange Zeit nur ein nützliches Werkzeug, um uns für bestimmte Gelegenheiten zu tarnen.
Die Lebensumstände unserer heutigen Gesellschaft erlauben uns nicht mehr, wir selbst zu sein. Die Maskerade ist zu einer Art sozialen Pflicht geworden. Gesellschaftliche Gruppen haben jetzt visuelle Codes und Verhaltensmuster, an die sie sich unter Androhung der Verbannung aus der Gemeinschaft oder dem Entzug ihrer wirtschaftlichen Unterstützung halten müssen.
Die jüngste Pandemie hat dem Begriff der Maske eine Art hygienischer Abgrenzung gegeben. Wenn es um Gesundheit geht, wird jede Schönheit in die Enge getrieben, ungeachtet dessen das es sich um eine Expansion von Verstecken handelt. Am Rande dieser Vision siedelt das Projekt "My Mask", welches die soziale Anonymität auf künstlerisch Weise zu maskieren versucht. Sie beschäftigt sich nicht mit dem Gesunden, sondern mit sich selbst und dem Ausstellungsort, dem postindustriellen Erbe und empfiehlt kreatives Handeln und die Überdeckung von Bedeutungsebenen mit völlig neuen Inhalten."

Il gesto scaramantico di indossare la maschera si unisce all’azione performativa, curativa e sciamanica del soffiare un DO universale per esorcizzare il virus. Arrivati all’ennesimo soffio l’iperventilazione potrà indurre sensazioni intense (effetto psicoattivo naturally high) (da igienizzare ad ogni uso).
/ The superstitious gesture of wearing the mask is combined with the performative, curative and shamanic action of blowing a universal C to exorcise the virus. At the umpteenth breath, hyperventilation will bring about a sort of intense enlightenment (a naturally-high psychoactive feeling) (to be sanitized after each use)
